I’m hosting a Windows 7 launch party
Here’s what I’ll get:
Party Package:
-One limited Signature Edition Windows 7 Ultimate
-One Deck of Playing Cards with Windows 7 Desktop Design
-One Puzzle with Windows 7 Desktop Design
-One Poster with Windows 7 Desktop Design
-Ten Tote Bags with Windows 7 Desktop Design for hosts and guests
-One table top centerpiece for decoration
-One package of Windows 7 napkins
-One package of streamers for decoration
-One package of balloons for decoration
Also, I’m entered into sweeps for a “light mini notebook computer” worth $750. I wonder if this is a super-expensive netbook or a mid-range CULV thin notebook. Let me know if you have any ideas.
So what does Ultimate Super Premium Plus Signature Edition mean?
-both 32 & 64-bit versions of Windows 7 Ultimate are included.
-the 32-bit version is the Signature Edition in a black sleeve.
-the 64-bit version is included in the white sleeve..
-the product key included in the inside left panel of the 32-bit Signature Edition should be used for either 64 or 32-bit installation. The key is only good for one installation.
So, that’s unlike the Windows Feedback Program Vista Ultimate disk that I got two years ago, which had two separate keys for each bit-version. Then again, it wasn’t a Signature edition.
Still, that takes my Windows 7 copies count to three:
-one Ultimate/Signature ed from the house-party pack
-one Home Premium ed from upgrade-guarantee program by HP
-one Professional ed from developers launch-event Server 2008 R2 from DreamSpark
At this rate, MS is literally giving away Windows 7 to boost word-of-mouth sales, and public reputation. It also probably helps cut into Linux distros market-share, puts Windows on more Macs, makes people aware of the current state of things in Windows and disproves false myths promoted by Apple. Or maybe Microsoft is simply tired of Windows XP and wants to kill it (except in XP-Mode).If my family doesn’t claim all the extra copies, I’ll have a giveaway here during launch-week for at least one Home Premium edition. ALL GONE!!
Thanks for listening. I’m out…
